Unlearn / Alien Bells

WPP stands for Witness Protection Program — a labour of love and a lab for incubating lovely music. Since 2021, it has operated as a space for artists who wish to remain anonymous and release music they might not be able to share otherwise. A Workshop for Phantom Producers, where the focus stays on sound, not identity.

Unlearn blends a slow, chuggy beat which is undeniably funky around the edges, with a spacious, mysterious atmosphere. A deep, mentor-like voice suggests we unlearn what we have learned — always solid advice when stepping into uncharted territory. The result is both grounding and disorienting: a groove-driven journey that invites surrender and reorientation in equal measure.

Alien Bells revolves around a synthesized metallic motif that climbs and dips in pitch, generating a steady sense of motion through unfamiliar terrain. The track feels suspended in low gravity, with each percussive chime echoing like a coded transmission from elsewhere. Drawing from dub, krautrock, new disco, and acid, without sounding quite like any of these, it's a mind-altering belter built for adventurous dancefloors.
